Canberra Travel Tips - The Colourful Balloon Spectacular

Our photographer, David, joined the Canberra Balloon Spectacular this year and he said it was amazing!
It is one of the longest running hot air ballooning events in the world.
The event is also one of the few places in the world where hot air balloons can fly so close to houses of government and buildings of national significance.
The "Spectacular" is held on the lawns in front of Old Parliament House where a mass of balloons will inflate at sunrise each morning, and after a gentle lift off, fly over the lake and city.
Balloons come from all over Australia and overseas.
It include some special shape balloons from across the globe who will add a sense of novelty to the stunning setting each day.
Guess what this is?
In 2015 we welcome 2 new shapes – “Angry Bird” and “Yoda”.
